The Money Talk

When our kids get engaged we take them and their fiancé to dinner and give them "The Money Talk".
We didn't get it worked in before the wedding with these two.
We finally made it happen last Saturday.
If you're new here, or have forgotten, the money talk is where we sit our kids down and tell them all the terrible money mistakes we made, and how we turned it around.
We give them Dave Ramsey's Total Money Make-Over Book and Financial Peace University. (Don't worry Jax and Esty, we amended the parts you've found to be problematic.)
Turns out if you pay cash for everything, and only have a debit card, it complicates qualifying for a house. So we disagree with Dave on a few things, but have found most of his principles to be solid.

We dangle a cash carrot if they graduate.
So far, all of them have taken the carrot.
So far, they've all been way more smart with their money than we were.

Speaking of carrots.
Nick's a carrot cake lover.
Just like his inlaws.
So we made the drive to Taggarts to get some.

Aren't they so cute!
We don't just talk money.
We talk Jesus, and the help he can give to every area of their marriage.
These two are amazing humans and we can't wait to see what their future holds!

FYI - the pot roast is only offered Friday and Saturday nights and it is FIRE.
Pairs great with the carrot cake.

In other news, we traded in Georgia

for this cute new dog...

Isn't she adorable.
