Nick's First Solo Flight

Nick is flying through flight school.

Last week he had his first solo flight.

The airport is only about 15 minutes from our house so we got to see it!

So exciting!!

He flew with Paul, his instructor, first.

We were a little mortified when we watched them land and for a minute I was thinking Nick was NOT ready to fly solo. They came in fast and it looked like the back of the copter was going to hit the ground first.

Turns out they were doing a practice engine failure landing.

He was actually SO READY and did amazing!

He took off and landed three times.

Nick's dad came too.

His instructor Paul is a dentist in Logan, a flight instructor, and takes people on helicopter tours of the Grand Canyon.

Maisie liked watching, but told Nick, "I not go in the sky".

I’m ready, as soon as he is cleared to take passengers!!
