Mr and Mrs Thaller
The plan was for Kloe and Nick to be married April 20th, in the Provo City Temple.
But Kloe had two priorities for her wedding:
The location
The dress
(I guess three, actually, also the groom)
The location she wanted was the Taylorsville Temple, but we had no idea when it would open.
When the date was finally announced for this summer, they'd already booked the honeymoon for April, and there were dates and deadlines for school in place, so they changed up their plans and last Thursday we had a wedding!
They thought it would be fun to get married on leap day and at the family cabin where they had their first date!
My Uncle Dave kept his share of the cabin, so I reached out to his son, my cousin Kendall, to see if we could have the ceremony there.
The cabin is under major renovations, so we were extremely grateful Kendall and their partner Callin could make it work for us.
Nick's family is the nicest.
Grateful they love Kloe so much.
The sad news: We didn't have our Arizona Becks
The happy news: They'll be here when they are sealed in the Taylorsville Temple July 6th!
The stars aligned and Gracie was able to join us.
It was so fun to be back at the cabin.
I've missed my dad's happy place for sure.
They'll airbnb it once the upgrades are done.
We tried to rent it this Summer, but it won't be ready by then.
I'll be back eventually to give you a tour when it's finished!
Kevin Beck performed the ceremony.
I think this is wedding number 4 or 5 for him.
Nick's dad and I were the witnesses.
I'm pretty sure this is only the second time I've seen the bride and groom kiss.
They seemed to know what they were doing, though 😂😂.
Becky Beck did the flowers with the help of Trader Joes and a high school job at the Flower Patch.
It was like riding a bike.
Take a guess what Nick's cute nephew's name is?
Beck 😊
Nick and his sister Abi and brother Jon.
Cousin Kait saved the day!
Lilly had mandatory rehearsals and the director couldn't give us an exact time for when she'd finish, so Kait waited til she was done and brought her to the cabin just in time for the wedding.
Did I mention this was so much fun?
Everyone loved the simplicity of it.
I wrote them a wedding/love poem—seemed like the right thing to do since Papa Tom wrote me a wedding poem and they were getting married in his cabin.
The kitchen was under major renovation, but this scripture that I love was still there.
It originated on the fridge and it's been in the kitchen for 25ish years.
Fun fact: Callin, the new owner, grew up coming to "The Sollis Cabin" with my uncle Dave's family and is renovating a lot of it himself.
He's doing an amazing job.
The cabin's new name...
I like it.
After the ceremony we gathered at Cafe Galleria in Midway.
They have a private room that was perfect for our group.
It's official.
Paperwork had to be just right...
They really are the cutest.
The food was delicious.
Nick's mom brought Nick and Kloe's favorite pies for dessert.
They also have globes you can rent that seat 8 people.
Everyone shared words of love and advice.
Like, it's ok to go to bed mad and discuss things in the morning.
Keep dating.
Go on temple dates.
Don't wish today away for better ones.
Always have each other's backs.
Be spontaneous.
Have fun.
Keep Jesus at the center of your relationship.
Congrats Mr and Mrs Thaller!
So happy for you both and grateful for another amazing son!
