Lots of Leg Room and No Snorkeling
I got back late last night from a week in Hawaii with this guy.
Kev was getting used to his snorkel gear--so he'd be ready for LOTS of snorkeling!
(And yes, he still has that shirt--23 years old and going strong. It's sentimental from his towing days.)
I have very sad news to tell.
There was no snorkeling.
None.
Zero.
Nada.
The ocean was angry last week on the Big Island.
More sad news.
We had to cancel our swim with the manta rays because the waves were so high.
We picked a bad week for waves.
But here's what it would have been like...
I've heard it's the must-do thing to do on the Big Island.
😕😕😕
The rest of the trip was mostly good news though.
We were front row joe's for the flight to Oakland, which meant LOTS of leg room.
On the long flight to Hawaii we were in the exit row--LOTS of leg room.
We also had the entire row to ourselves.
So nice.
I did sit right next to him for most of it.
He loves me in his personal space.
No really, he does.
We arrived around 1pm so we had plenty of time for some sight seeing and dinner.
Kalua pork pizza and nachos at the Kona Brewing Co.
Spent magic hour at the Kona Temple.
It's closed for a few years while they remodel and expand the temple.
How about this post-sunset view from our lanai...
And my view the next morning with the moon peeking through...
