And We're Off
Today's the day!
We're off to girls camp.
By we I mean Lilly and Janie, Bettyna and I, our camp cook, two priesthood leaders, and a bunch of awesome girls!
We have had a lot of death in our neighborhood.
So many losses.
Sometimes a funeral a week.
There's been lots of grief.
Two weeks ago the young women did some weeding at one of our recently widower's homes.
They worked really hard and got tons done.
14 girls are going to camp, and 7 of them are Youth Camp Leaders.
The YCL's have done an incredible job planning our camp. The younger girls are lucky to have them. Me and Bettyna are lucky to have them too! They've made our job easy.
We also planted some pink flowers and daisies...his wife loved daisies.
It was dark when we finished, so I didn't get an after picture, but it does look so nice, and it was fun to spread a little goodness that night.
Stay tuned for our camp service project, it's going to be so fun!
Last Tuesday we gathered for a camp kickoff.
These two were in charge of teaching everyone the camp rules.
They remembered my granny panties from Stake Camp all those years ago and asked to use them as a visual aid for illustrating the "No Drama" rule.
We handed out packing lists.
Went over our itinerary.
Made tent assignments.
And roasted Smore's.
So excited to spend a few days in God's country with these ladies!
