The Valley of the Temple & Laie Temple - Day 7 & 8

The last sunrise and morning walk...

Day seven on the Sabbath.

Church wasn't until 10:30, so the girls played cards while dad cooked breakfast.

We had a delicious "Papa Dave Breakfast" with the sounds of the ocean in the background.

One of the highlights of church was the music.
A guy led the music like a boss, his wife rocked the organ and Becky Beck did not hold back as she sang that alto.

The church was literally right across from the ocean.

We loved our time at the temple visitor's center last year so we made another trip.

Talked with the sister missionaries, watched some Jesus and temple videos and explored the lobby.

I love these miniature models of the temples.

The Laie temple is built with the baptistry below the celestial room.
I love the symbolism.
We begin our journey back to God and Jesus with baptism and eventually return back to him in heaven.

Our next stop was the Valley of the Temples.
It made for a nice Sunday afternoon last year, so we did a repeat here too.

Lilly is still the bird whisperer.

And apparently the turtle whisperer too.

She's in her happy place with animals.
Not once did she ask what we'd be doing next.

Gracie loves this little church perched up on the hillside of the valley, but both years it's been closed.

We headed back to the condo to heat up frozen dinners and watch The Chosen where four episodes were waiting.
I was gripped, until I passed out half way through the last one.

Apparently we were all done taking pictures by the last day because we only have two.

We flew from Oahu to California where I left the group and flew to Arizona.
Kev and the girls came home to this.
January weather in Utah isn't our favorite.

The next morning Kev took Kloe back to school.

They got her stocked up on groceries and then Kevin left for home 😅.

The End.
