Great Grandma Moon
Yesterday Lilly gave a talk in primary about Namaan.
Namaan was the captain of the Syrian army and he also had leprosy.
There are a few great lessons we can learn from Namaan but probably my favorite is not to discount the small and simple things the prophet asks his people to do.
Lilly taught how the prophet Elisha had his messenger tell Namaan to wash in the Jordan 7 times and he would be healed.
Namaan was wroth--literally mad at the solution the prophet offered him.
He said, and I quote, "Behold, I THOUGHT (or in other words, he assumed), He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper."
Namaan wanted the prophet to heal him in a very specific and grand way. And yet all he needed to do is simply wash himself in the Jordan 7 times. Period.
He eventually humbled himself, did the small and simple thing and was completely healed.
It's been my experience that it's the daily, small and simple things the prophet asks of us that bring the biggest blessings.
Lilly was also asked to choose an ancestor, draw a picture and write what they've learned from them.
Lilly chose her great grandma Moon.
It's going to be a really great day when we see grandma Moon again and she'll be completely healed.
I can't wait for Lilly to meet her.
