This is the third time we've stayed in this condo.
The view and convenient private beach access can't be beat!
Kevin is not a fan of sand, so he watched from the lanai.
I LOVE the sand.
Not a fan of swimming in the ocean though.
The girls, however, love the sand and swimming in the ocean.
We did some exploring with Hank (who's real name is Dave) with our GyPSy Guide guided tour app.
Hank has also guided us through Yosemite and the Grand Tetons.
He's a great travel guide.
Picked us up some fresh fruit.
Turns out I am the only one who loves fresh coconut.
A sunset on a VERY crowded beach. Had we taken the picture from the other direction you would have seen the crowds.
So. Many. People.
On Sunday we watched President Nelson's talk, "The Sabbath is a Delight".
Sundays on vacation can be tricky.
This counsel helped us decide how we would spend our Sabbath...
When Isaiah described the Sabbath as “a delight,” he also taught us how to make it delightful. He said:
“If thou turn away … from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, … and shalt honour [the Lord], not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Not pursuing your “own pleasure” on the Sabbath requires self-discipline. You may have to deny yourself of something you might like. If you choose to delight yourself in the Lord, you will not permit yourself to treat it as any other day. Routine and recreational activities can be done some other time.
Think of this: In paying tithing, we return one-tenth of our increase to the Lord. In keeping the Sabbath holy, we reserve one day in seven as His. So it is our privilege to consecrate both money and time to Him who lends us life each day.
We decided to spend part of the day on His holy temple grounds.
We had hoped to do some baptisms for the dead, but the temple is closed for two months :(
The missionaries taught us about Jesus and we watched videos about the history of the church in Hawaii and The Horseman, from the "Meet the Mormons" movie. I wonder if they've renamed that?
We ate our lunch on the temple grounds.
We took the girls to see the BYU Hawaii campus.
So beautiful!
I want this engraven somewhere on my house...
We also went to the Valley of the Temples.
Lilly loved how the birds climbed right up into her hand to eat the fish food.
