If you look close you'll see a cute little soccer player in the white shirt and socks and black shorts on your left...

Janie has spent the last three weeks trying out for the soccer team after school.

Janie has never played soccer, except at recess and a few times with friends, but she picked up on it quick and Wednesday she found out she made the varsity team!!!

(Is it still the varsity team if it is the only team? :)

She might be a natural.

She scored a goal the first day of practice after almost passing out from being over heated.

She's tough.

Like her mom.

Tomorrow Janie Rose turns 13!!!

And Monday Kloe May turns 20!!!

Our girls are growing up.

And guess who's turning 50 next Friday???

Maisie came by to wish Gracie a Happy Birthday yesterday.

Last night I was able to go to the temple with my dear friend Lacey.

It had been over 16 years since she'd gone to the temple and I've loved watching her prepare for such a special night.  She was glad to be home.

A few things to remember from my Seminary classes this week...

M asking if we could please play a game.  I told him if he could come up with a game about Jesus we'd do it.  

So he did.  

He had the class make paper airplanes and write a Jesus scripture on it and then the person's airplane that went the farthest would share their scripture.

M's game was a hit, so we did it in my next class too.

Having a very real heart to heart conversation with the kids about why God allows bad things to happen to good people. A few of them shared some tough times they'd had and how Jesus helped them get through it and to see the purpose in their trial.  These kids have had some rough stuff.

Talking with A about her rough week and telling her she can take a nap in Seminary if she needs to.

Each student sharing lessons and blessings of the pandemic.  A couple of the kids mentioned they learned to entertain themselves--something their mom's would appreciate.  Another said he learned to manage his time.  One girl was really honest and said she hasn't seen any blessings or lessons--YET.  She thinks she will in the future but the pandemic has been really hard on her and right now she's not seeing them.

And then there was T who talked about his dad being his favorite person because he is so kind and so great to talk with and he's just an all around really good person.  And as a side note, A LOT of the class said their mom was their favorite person.  Love it!

Aaaand maybe there was a couple of times where I wanted to burn their cell phones, but I tamed the control enthusiast in me and just smiled and kept teaching.

I was also reminded that when you decide to be a disturber and annoyer of Satan's Kingdom, he tries to work over time on you.
