The Mess and Kloe and CC

It took a while, but finally, the first week of October, we started moving in.
And we are in a mess!!
I have to say though, I was so excited about all the extra closet and storage room!
The bedrooms are finished but the living room, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms need a lot of work.
We got the basement rented right away.
One of Kevin's drivers and his roommate moved in.
The rent pays almost half the mortgage so we aren't paying much more than we did at our old house.
We are so grateful!

This place had walls and walls and walls of green wallpaper of varying textures and patterns.
The wall below had the thick stuff and we pretty much had to just tear it off.  The steam and chemicals couldn't go through the paper.  It was more like a heavy material.

My dad got a kick out of the bird and duck patterns that would magically appear.

The kids are loving their new school and ward.
They especially love walking to and from school!
They thought it was so weird to go to church with the same kids they go to school with and they have made so many friends in the neighborhood!
The first day we went to church I remember sitting down in the chapel and immediately feeling like I was home.

We started in the living area and then moved to the kitchen.
Bless my dad for all his help.
Between our two houses, we are practically a full time job for him.
My goal is to have everything done by Thanksgiving.

When we initially told the kids about the move, Emmy was devastated.
She did not want to leave her house or her school.
It didn't take long for her to adapt.
The first time she went to Activity Days at the church she brought home three friends.

This little lady turned 1 September 16th and has been a trooper with all the life changes going on.

Kloe has been great to keep CC (that's what she calls Gracie) entertained while I work on the house.

The mess doesn't bother them a bit.

Football update -- Jax's team is having a pretty sad season.
They've only won one game.
People love to ask us, "Are you still glad you moved?"
It's kind of funny because even though football was the catalyst to start the process, this move is blessing our family in so many ways.
