All Things Hunting

Look at my little Janie shooting guns with the big boys!

She loves all things hunting.

Being outdoors (even when it is FREEZING, which it was).

Seeing all the animals.

Hanging out with her dad and brother and nephew.

She drew out for an elk and she's been so excited for this hunt!

Jax left after work and drove through the night to get to their hunting spot early Thursday morning.

Kev and Janes left around midnight.

The terrain was thick aspens or sagebrush.

They saw a TON of elk.

Tons.

Kevin said it was like being in an episode of Planet Earth.

Janie had a clear shot and took it.

She was a little too short for the tripod, so she sat on Kevin's lap.

Janie hit the elk and not only did it go down, but it flipped right on its back with its legs flailing.

And then the elk surprised everyone and got back on her feet.  Despite their best efforts to find her, she got away.  They couldn't believe it.

Beau came and they all loved having him!

He never complained once.

He was just happy to be there.

Beau turns four this month!
