If You Give Them Pizza, They Will Come

Last week Kev and I were talking about what we could even do for a ward party with the Covid life everyone is currently living.

I checked with our friend who has a pizza food truck to see if he had any availability for the holidays.

He was free on Tuesday, so we booked him and threw the party together in no time.

We gathered our helpers...

Kevin's counselors greeted everyone as they drove in and gifted them Christmas masks (Old Navy has tons for a $1 a piece).

Then the Bishop took their orders.

They didn't even have to get our of their cars.

The kids delivered the pizzas right to their windows.

Lilly was SO excited to finally meet Bailey, Grandma Meldrum's grand dog.

She is just a few months old and adorable!

With Covid, we had no idea how many people would come.

Guess what?

If you give them pizza, they will come.

The workers couldn't keep up with the orders.  

Gracie has a food handlers permit so they let her join them.

She was a huge help!!

After they placed their pizza order they drove to the cookie station.

Nick was the cookie shift lead and Kloe was his assistant.

My phone died, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Most of the people stayed in their cars.

Some rolled down their windows and talked to the people next to them while they waited for their pizza.

A few others walked around visiting.

A couple of neighbors brought holiday blow ups for decorations, which made for a fun photo backdrop for the kids.

The night was a huge success!  

Possibly the best ward party we've had in the 15 years we've lived here.  And the easiest!  A few minutes of planning, hardly any set-up and take down. 

I think we are on to something for future gatherings!
