What a Difference
I have enjoyed having my girl home!
She's back to school on Monday.
We have been very productive.
Dentist appointment, shopping and while my color was setting she had her hair thinned.
THAT PILE ON THE FLOOR IS LIKE THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT OF HAIR ON MY HEAD.
It's not right.
I have loved having the kids home on Fridays.
We've had Gracie home every day since the high school went online last month due to so many Covid cases.
Little by little we are getting things done with the renovation.
Transformed this old light pole with a little paint!
Isn't it SO CUTE!
What a difference a little paint can make!
I finished painting the cabinets on Monday.
Thank the heavens this is a small kitchen.
Cabinets are A LOT of work.
I've always been afraid of them. But I asked my friend Jessica who knows all things paint and she walked me through it.
Two coats of a special cabinet primer and two more coats of cabinet paint.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but they were off-white.
I painted them a bright white and they look awesome, but I won't post a picture until the kitchen is finished.
The counter top came off and the new quartz counter will be installed next week!
A little update on this guy...
The effects of the concussion/brain bleed have really kicked his butt.
He had to come home early from a hunting trip because the elevation made him sick.
The room still spins when he lays down on one side, I can't remember which.
He was helping me remove blinds this week and just having his arms above his head put him out of commission the rest of the day--he felt like he was car sick.
But his neck is healing nicely, so that's a plus.
I sent Kevin home and asked my brother-in-law Scott to come help me.
Scott gets after it and basically does the work of two people.
He's awesome.
He removed the five sets of blinds brackets.
I think this window had the most.
He took down the rest of the blinds along with about 20 other small jobs.
New windows will be installed Tuesday!
I said it once, and I'm saying it again.
What a difference a little paint makes!
I need to pick up some hardware for the garage door and then I'll post the before and after photo.
Scott and I cracked up when I opened the closet to find this stellar paint job done by one of the renters.
They also painted over plugs and some of the white moldings had blue-gray paint splotches all over them.
No human should be allowed to pick up a paint brush until they've watched YouTube tutorials on how to paint :)
