The Weekend

I'm not sure if I'll put up holiday decorations when all the kids have moved out (except for a modest Christmas Tree :).  If they don't spear head the decorating, it generally doesn't happen.
Lilly was on it this year and Saturday we Halloweened the place up!

It was back to church again this week.
I have no problem wearing a mask, but I wish we could sing.
I miss that.

My brother Rob's family went back yesterday for the first time.
How cute is that little Lexi in her purple mask!

Six months ago our family had plans to visit the Sacred Grove in preparation for the April General Conference.  Having to cancel that trip was so disappointing.
I found out a couple of months ago that the missionaries were doing sacred grove tours via Zoom.
So, to prepare for this October General Conference, we did the next best thing.

We saw the Smith family home and farm.

The home where Joseph and Emma lived for a time, and where Joseph translated some of The Book of Mormon.

They took us into the sacred grove where Joseph Smith prayed and saw God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ.

The room where the prophet Joseph Smith prayed for forgiveness and received a visit from Moroni, a heavenly messenger, who gave him further instruction.

One last birthday hurrah for Janie and Kevin!
Last night we celebrated with birthday oreo pie and strawberry rhubarb crisp.

We wrap up our September birthdays today!
Happy 1st birthday Logan David!
