St George Beckventures Day 3
Friday morning Kevin and a bunch of the big kids (Jax, Aubrey, Emmy, Garren, Dakota and Gracie) went to play tennis, so I was on baby duty.
Lucky me!

Logan is a snuggler!
It's the best.
We probably snuggled for 45 minutes.

He snuggled with Aunt Lilly too.

And then the phone rang.
Emmy called to tell me there'd been an accident.
Kevin went to swing at the tennis ball and blacked out and hit his head really hard when he went down.

He was unconscious for a while.
They called for an ambulance, and in the mean time two really nice guys who were also on the court came over to help.

The last thing Kevin remembered was going for the ball.
The next thing he knew, he woke up in the ambulance.

Jackson stayed with him in the ER until I could get there.
Kevin had the worst headache of his life and a huge goose egg on the side of his head.
Thankfully nothing was broken, but the CT of his brain came back showing he had a small brain bleed.
(Notice day three of the shirt :)
Sorry, probably not the time for jokes.

He was admitted to the hospital so they could watch him overnight.
They couldn't figure out why he'd blacked out.

Kevin's one request was that the kids go on with business as usual.
Jax and Aubrey were on brunch duty that morning ,so they made breakfast burritos and fruit parfaits with Aubrey's homemade yogurt.

The swelling on his head had already gone down a bit when I took this.
But it was just the beginning of his black eye.

He tried to convince me to go home for the night.
He lost that one.
Fun fact: They won't give you the good stuff in the neuro unit.
Only liquid Tylenol with some extras to help you sleep.
It took the edge off, but his head was still pounding and he was pretty dizzy.
Thank goodness I stuck around or he wouldn't have got his pain meds.
He had no idea when they gave him what, and it seemed the nurses didn't either.
I also demanded they run some more tests to rule out the possibility that his heart caused the blackout.
They did more bloodwork and an echo on his heart and everything looked good.

Meanwhile, back at the house...

More swimming (wiped Beau and Kloe out).
And then night fishing at Quail Creek reservoir!

We were planning to bring the boat for fishing, but our truck was in the shop for the third time--the "new" transmission still doesn't work. It had been in the shop this go around for four weeks and counting.
We were pretty mad about it, but after Kevin was concussed we were relieved. He's the only one who can pull the boat and he wasn't allowed to drive for at least a week.
I'm not sure how we would have got it home.

Thanks to the master fisherman, they all knew just what to do.

Such a beautiful night!
