No Big Deal

The surgery that was supposed to be "no big deal" turned out to be kind of a big deal.

It was pretty terrible.
The melanoma covered a good sized area, so there was lots of painful deadening and it was located right by his ear so he heard the needle go in with the meds squirting in.  He heard all the cutting and sewing and the doc accidentally pinched his ear pretty hard.
He came out into the waiting room really shaky and had to hold on to me to get out of the hospital and into the car.
We were kind of annoyed with each other earlier that day (it happens now and again), so I considered sending him by himself (since it was supposed to be no big deal).  Thank goodness I went.  Poor guy, I felt terrible.

It just hasn't been Kevin’s month.
He was so happy to get his truck back two weeks ago.
Only for it to STILL NOT WORK.
So it's been back in the shop for a week and a half.
The last thing we were told Tuesday is that it actually wasn't the transmission at all--WHAT!!!
If that's true, they charged us for a brand new transmission we didn't need.
I'll be calling them again today (because their customer service is terrible and they never call us) to make another attempt at getting this figured out.
How can a repair shop keep vehicles for over two months and stay in business?
I won't say any names, but both names of the place start with a T.

Lets focus on some good news.
Look at this beautiful girl who got her braces off!
What a roller coaster of a journey Aubrey has had with her jaw.
Grateful it's behind her!

This kid is actually turning one next week!
And he is BUSY!
Unlike this picture...

He took a 10 second break.

Look who's mission papers are IN!!!
I send her a picture of watermelon and she shows up at my house.
And she brings Kloe with her.

Janie moved downstairs to Kloe's old room and now that Lilly has the room all to herself, she's making it her own.  She and Kevin disassembled Janie's bed and now Kevin's making a portable bed for the bus so we can take it on over night adventures.

Despite all the things, God is good.
I notice him in the details every day.
One of the best things my life coach has taught me is life is 50/50.
50% great
50% not great
It's all part of the experience.
