Come What May and Love It

Yesterday we had our back to school family dinner and announced the theme for the new year...

The theme is based on this talk by Elder Worthlin...

We did something new this year.
I invited everyone to write letters of encouragement and advice to each of the kids /adults who would be starting school.

It was so fun to hear all their words to each other.

We have six students and one teacher.

Janie and Lilly had some especially good words of advice...

Kloe also included pictures for Estabon...

Garren goes back to school today too!
But he got advice on how to be an awesome teacher.

In addition to Janie's words of wisdom, she folded all her notes into different origami figures.

After home church dad gave father's blessings to the girls for school.
Dad gives the blessings.
Mom takes the notes.
Kloe shared with her sisters how she referred often to the blessing Kevin gave her last year, and how through her faith she received all the promised blessings (and there were some really special ones).

After dinner Janie and Gracie had a virtual fireside.
They performed the musical number and did such a good job!
Both have worked really hard this year to improve their talents.

Then we bonded some more...

And then I drugged the little girls with a few milligrams of melatonin.
They haven't had to be up early for five months, and have gotten to bed late for most of those months.
One little pill 30 minutes before bedtime and they were OUT by 8:30.

Here's to a new school year!
Come what may, and love it!
