Filming in Kolob Canyon
Last Wednesday we spent the day in Cedar City with Kloe May.
We drove through rain, snow and a brief blizzard.
Kloe was on a mission to get some great video footage for a scholarship she's applying for and to take one last crack at the ACT test.
Most people don't know that several of the colleges in Utah offer a Residual ACT test. The score is only good for the college where it's given, but students on average, score higher than when they take it in the traditional setting.
Kloe's plan was to film in Kolob Canyon.
I've lived in Utah my entire life and never been to Kolob Canyon.
Such a shame.
It is incredibly beautiful.
It was a down pour when we got to the mouth of the canyon, along with a bunch of fog.
The weather app said the rain would let up for a bit around noon, so we took a chance and waited it out.
The weather app was right.
We got about 30 minutes of no rain and the canyon was beautiful.
FYI: There are no day passes.
You have to purchase a week pass to go in.
I was annoyed at first, but what we saw inside was 100% worth the dollar a minute.
After Kloe got her canyon shots we headed over to the SUU campus.
The weather cooperated and the campus shoot was also a success!
The last stop was the cafeteria.
She filmed one last clip while she ate some pancakes, then it was test time...
While she took her 3 1/2 hour test, her parents spent a few hours in the Cedar City Temple.
Kloe was fried by the time she finished the test.
I wonder what I'd get if I took the ACT test at almost 48 years old.
Probably a 12.
This was the best day.
Kev and I love helping our kids.
Helping them reach their goals and their potential is pretty great.
And it was fun for Kevin to see how much Kloe loves the campus and how excited she is to go there.
We'll be back to drop her off for college before we know it.
