Main Goals
July might be my favorite month this year :)

And how cute is the calendar Aunt Tami makes us every year?!

Janie has had a productive week.
She started her very own little business selling flavored water.
She decided she wanted a fit bit and didn't want to wait til her birthday to ask for it.
Nick found one online for $30 so she figured she could make that in water sales, no problem.
I think she's made $7 so far.
Worked in a "Presidency meeting" at Taggarts on Wednesday.
Beautiful drive, great company, and as always, yummy food.
We got back on the horse this week with the gospel study.
Summers are SO HARD.
The girls never want to do mornings but nights are the worst with everyone going their different directions so we gave them the option of getting up at 7:30, 8, or 8:30am.
It was unanimous, they all voted 8:30. Gracie says, "This will be good for me, I haven't felt so good waking up at 10 every morning". Ya think?
We have been studying Acts chapters 1-5 this week.
Christ has died, been resurrected, spent 40 days with the disciples, and ascended into heaven.
The apostles receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and not only did they receive it, but it was poured out upon them, and then they went about preaching of Christ, baptizing, and healing the sick.
You don't have to be an apostle of Christ to have the Spirit poured out upon you. That gift is available to all who are baptized into Christ's church and follow him.
The story of Peter and John healing the lame man is such a beautiful illustration of what Christ offers us. The lame man was asking them for money, which they didn't have, but they did have something so much better--the power to heal him, both of his physical problem and his sins.
As we've studied throughout the week, our conversations have been deeper and I've felt a greater measure of the Spirit being poured out upon our home. The effort to pray and study the scriptures is worth it! I talk to many who struggle with this. I did too as a much younger mother. I kept at it. In times when the family didn't study, I kept studying on my own and we've always prayed together. If prayer is hard, start with blessings on the food. Gratitude is easy.
The promises of our Prophet President Nelson are real.
He promised us in our October 2018 Conference...
The new home-centered, Church-supported integrated curriculum has the potential to unleash the power of families, as each family follows through conscientiously and carefully to transform their home into a sanctuary of faith. I promise that as you diligently work to remodel your home into a center of gospel learning, over time our Sabbath days will truly be a delight. Your children will be excited to learn and to live the Savior's teachings, and the influence of the adversary in your life and in your home will decrease. Changes in your family will be dramatic and sustaining.
If there is contention in your home, this will help.
If there are broken relationships, this will help.
If there is depression and or anxiety felt by anyone in your home, this will help.
Everyone has access to the Come, Follow Me manual and a Bible in the free Gospel Library App.
The world offers us all sorts of good things, but they are all temporary, what Christ offers us is so much better.
And that's all I have to say about that.
For now :)
The weather was a little crazy yesterday.
We weren't sure if it would cooperate for a Drive In movie.
Around 8 the wind stopped and the rain seemed to be holding off so we piled the air mattress, pillows, and blankets in the truck and went, but not before Lilly rescued this cute little bird.
She fell in love immediately.
She named it.
I can't remember what, it was a made up name.
Lilly likes to make up names for people and animals.
And here's Dad telling her very nicely but seriously that there's a very good chance this bird will die. He's all about the straight talk. Always has been.
I stayed awake through most of Toy Story 4 but only made it through about 20 minutes of Pets 2.
Going to the Drive In on the 4th is great because no one goes, but now that the bigger fireworks are legal in Utah it made it hard to hear. They were going off all around us.
Today is the last day to get Bones and the Treasure Map for FREE!
We'd promote it for free all month but Kindle only lets you run a 5 day free promotion once every quarter. After tomorrow it's still pretty cheap.
We've priced it as low as Kindle allows, just $2.99.
The book contest runs through the end of July.

Feel free to forward the link to anyone you think might like it.
Kevin's main goals are to have a book to give his grandkids to read and for the book to be in all the schools to promote a love and excitement for reading.
His wife's main goal for the book is for it to be made into a movie with Robert Redford coming out of retirement to produce the movie and act as Papa Dave, Tim McGraw to be Bone's father (Kevin) and anyone who has followed this blog from the beginning knows I want Jennifer Garner to play me :).
