Missionary Monday on Tuesday - Glenmont Week 16

Hello! I'm sure you all dropped everything to wait for my email yesterday. Pday got changed to today. Sorry.

So anyways, last Monday we did our fhe and everything.

Tuesday we tracted a bunch and were supposed to have a lesson but that fell through... While tracting some white lady flipped at us right off the bat and accused us of being the ones who put these things called "curendera cards" on everyone's cars in the parking lot. Curendera cards are basically a Spanish call this number and we will magically fix your life things, and they usually have a picture on them of the virgin Mary too, pretty funny. A member also took us to lunch at a wine house that had super good hamburgers so that was cool😂 At the end of the night we exchanged Elder Peterson for Elder Callap.

Wednesday with Elder Callap we tracted a lot. In the afternoon we were going out to Laurel to contact a referral that the México city visitors center has been bugging us about even though there's like zero info on the lady. We get there and it's a complex and there's no apartment number so we had to Tract the whole building, didn't find her. Then they found us her phone number so we call to see when we can come bring her a Book of Mormon, she really wanted us to just mail it and when we asked when we could come by to explain it she hung up, good stuff.

Thursday was weekly planning, we had dinner with Hermano Jimenez and he pretty much roasted us the whole time about how we need to hang out with the members and Investigators way more and for way longer. Uhh... He was convinced that's how we could be more successful. Afterwards we taught Andrey, hes still kinda in the same spot. He likes reading with us but he comes to church like a third of the time and isn't super engaged when we aren't around.

Saturday we had pretty much everything fall through so we found a lot. We were supposed to have a pass off lesson with a family and some English sisters who found and taught them the first lesson or two. Apparently they have fine English but would prefer Spanish. They put them on date and everything but then they said the lesson was next Saturday not this one... Rats.

Sunday was church and finding. Church was pretty good, the talks were on point and the second hour teacher was a guy who's been a member for a little over a year and he did an awesome job.

Aaaand yesterday was memorial day so the mission rescheduled pday to today because in the handbook is says holidays are great times to find families at home. Sooo that's what we did. Ran into a lot of people who were having family get together and said to "come back another time". But overall it was a good time, lots of people out and about. We had our own little BBQ for dinner in our apartment to celebrate memorial day. It's been a long time since I've had a hot dog 😂

Today we have basically nothing going on, and we only have 70 more miles for the rest of the month so we will have to be kind of conservative, what can ya do 🤷🏾‍♂️ I hope you all had a great week and I look forward to hearing from you!
