Missionary Monday
Yo,
Last Monday we received no call so we are both staying. Later that night we had to drive to the mission office to pick up Elder Asay because his companion got his visa and dipped out to the Phillipines so we were in a trio until transfers.
Tuesday we had district meetings and were doing a training on using time more efficiently and extending the Baptismal invitation better. The first district meeting went alright, everyone was pretty boring about it so that was lame. But the second district meeting everyone ate it up so that made us feel better. Hopefully it changes things for the better. Tuesday nightit rained like crazy and that kinda sucked to be out in but we lived π
Wednesday we tracted in Capitol hill with Elder Asay and man that was rough, I feel bad for him that he has to work in that area every day π It's literally all tiny old super expensive townhomes and every single door we knocked on the person shot us down before we could say anything π One person even gave us the bird through the windowπ¦ π After that we went to lunch at union Station with a member from their ward and we went to a place called Unos and it was super good. Had the biggest hamburger I've ever had. Then we drove to transfers, that wasn't anything special. Elder Castillo is training so I'm a grandpa now.π
Thursday we had to weekly plan, then we tracted a bunch and ran into Terence again. He is always outside and is always happy to see us, we set up to meet next Wednesday hopefully that happens. Not much happened outside of that.
Friday was pretty boring too, tracted and looked for people and then had a district leader Skype call in the afternoon with studies. During studies we got a call from the vehicle coordinator and a few weeks ago Elder Attanasio got a speeding ticket from a photocop for $100 and apperently the rule is that we split it so that's 50 bucks I'll never get back :(
Saturday we were going to play basketball with the youth and Lenin and as I was backing Elder Attanasio out of the parking stall of our apartment a guy hanging out in a car said "Yall going to ball?" I said yeah and asked if he wanted to come play, we gave him the address and he said he'd see what he could do. We were excited for that but when we showed up to the stake center there was a band practicing in the gym so that got canceled.π© We went home and changed and went straight to the ward potluck and that went super well. Marty and Lenin came and were fellowshipped super well. Everyone had a pretty good time. Later that night we went to Marty's to pick up some food and we were going to teach her a lesson too but TJ (the 7 year old) was going crazy and stuck his head out the window (3rd floor) so Marty grabbed a belt and beat the goofy out of him. After that performance it was our cue to bounce so we told her we'd come back another time.
Sunday morning before church we had stake coordination and that went pretty good. They bought a $600 giant book of Mormon thing for "the Book of Mormon Experiment" and that thing is pretty dope. After the meeting we went to church and a member had brought Marty and her kids so that was awesome. TJ was a new little man, he couldn't have been more calm and composed, and he loved the whole thing, that was a relief for Marty π Him and Carter usually drive her up the wall. We had ward council and that was alright, they talked a lot but no real plans were made. Then we went home and had studies. Our ward mission leader called us right before we were gonna start dinner and asked if we were hungry, he then said he was going to bring us some Chinese food. We thought surely he wasn't buying Chinese takeout and bringing it to us on a sunday... Welp, he did π So we ate it and it was pretty good. Still can't believe that happened though...
Not too sure what today holds, probably the usual. I hope you all had a great week and I look forward to hearing from you all!
