Everything Can Change in a Day
Yesterday started out perfect and set the tone for the best day.
It was SO GREAT to go home again, to our temple. There were lots of new temple workers and they were still working out all the kinks but it was wonderful and so nice to be back.
After the temple we picked up Emmy for a job interview with the Utah Jazz!!
The Jazz found her on LinkedIn a couple of weeks ago and reached out to her to see if she'd be interested in an accounting position.
Em usually deletes all her LinkedIn emails but when she saw "Utah Jazz" she thought there's no way this is legit and clicked the "interested" button.
She has loved living in Arizona so she told us her interest level was 1% but then they called her for a phone interview and after she heard the job description it jumped to 80%.
After three phone interviews she was asked if they could fly her out for a live interview.
Em's pretty great on paper and over the phone, but in person she'll win you over every time!
While Emmy was doing all of that, I got to hang out with these guys...
Aunt Jill called to tell me they had brought Grandpa Moon up for a visit.
What a fun surprise to be able to spend time with my Grandpa!!
He's looking pretty good for a 95 year old.
Years ago when our business wasn't doing well and we were drowning in debt Kevin would tell me, "Everything can change in a day". There were a lot of days where things didn't change but every once in a while they would, big changes. Big blessings have come to us--all in a day.
When Emmy first moved to Arizona she called me one morning, sobbing. She'd gone out there on faith, bills were starting to come in, and her first interview hadn't gone well. She was second guessing all her choices. We talked things through and I told her the very same thing her dad has told me when things are hard, "Em, everything can change in a day".
Everything did change that day. She had an interview that afternoon and she nailed it, along with the next two interviews that week. All three of those companies offered her a job.
So here we are last night.
Celebrating Emmy's new position as an accountant with the Utah Jazz!
After finishing the interviews Emmy's interest level was at 100%. She was ready to take the position even if it meant a lateral move in pay. They not only offered her the job but it came with a big pay raise and 4 season tickets to the Jazz games!! Congrats my Emmy. What a difference a day can make.
