She's Had It

This kid is done with 1st grade.

Not physically, but mentally, she's had it.

Yesterday morning she was so sad that she had to go to school and asked if she could please just stay home with mom.  She also told me she doesn't want to learn Spanish any more and she does not want to read during the Summer.  If she had her way she'd play outside with friends all day every day.

I gave her a big hug, told her I too was tired of school, and then whipped out the tough love and sent her on her way.

I do think she's burnt out but she also seems to take after her big sister Kloe who, bless her heart, struggles big time with mornings.

I myself have been struggling with dinner time.  Ugh.  25 years of cooking meals and I see no end in sight.
