Texas '18 Sister's Trip - Day 4

On our last day together we visited the stock yards.

Saw some Long Horns.
A shoot out.
And browsed through lots of shops.

Tricia's husband Dale and daughter Hannah came along.
They've lived in Texas for 19 years and this was their first trip to the stock yards.

We also visited Buc-ees.
It's a gas station/convenience store on steroids.
They are a Texas chain so Utah doesn't have them, but they totally should.

Meet Buc-ee Beaver

You gotta see this place to believe it.
It practically takes up an entire block.
We sampled lots of gourmet fudge, beef and turkey jerky, and tamales.
They have a craft fair in one area of the store, a huge candy section, gourmet sandwiches, a bakery and THE NICEST bathrooms.  I'm not even kidding.  Tricia says when they travel in Texas they'll drive an hour to use a Buc-ee's bathroom over any other.  I can totally see why.

On our way to the airport we stopped at a Texas barbecue place.
It was delicious.

Kim went with the chicken.
Some of us had turkey and others brisket.

Meg went with turkey, a baked potato and corn on the cob.
She loved it all.
Yay for ending on a high food note!
