Missionary Monday - Moville Week 15

Whaaaat up?

So last Tuesday was pretty normal, District meeting was good, nothing special. Then had a lesson with Rosa's Grandma, I like her. She's pretty sincere and actually does the stuff we invite her to. However she doesn't understand scripture very well, for example in 2nd Nephi 31:16 she didn't understand the unless part so she thought it was saying that if we do endure to the end we won't be saved and she was all "OH PADRE BENDITO" that was pretty funny. All in all it was a great lesson.

Wednesday there was a District leader Skype at 10 and it kicked me out halfway through and I couldn't rejoin so that was awesome. Then there was an email sent out saying that today was a snow day until further notice. It snowed alllll day. Elder Castillo and I weekly planned and cleaned and a bunch of stuff. Then at 6 roads had been cleared and everything so we could go back out again, we tracted and talked to a bunch of people. No one special except this 15 year old kid was blown away by the book of Mormon and asked where he could buy one, haha.

Thursday we had another lesson with Rosa's grandma, we taught her the plan of salvation cause she had a bunch of questions about it. Then a video thing in the Chapel with hermano Colindres, that was awkward like usual.

Friday we had a lesson scheduled with Josue, we showed up and no cars were there and neither was he. We texted him basically seeing what the deal was and he said he was in the hospital with his dad because he broke his foot. I told Elder Castillo to tell him to prove it (sarcasm) and right then he sent a selfie with his dad in the hospital bed😂 He said he'll recover though so that's good. Then we had lunch with Hermana Nieto, she made salmon, rice, beans, sweet potatoes, and a salad that was 75% radishes. That's a perfect storm for Elder Beck. I manned up and ate it all though. She claims that radishes are super healthy but they make me cry so I don't think it's worth it. Then we had a lesson with a former investigator Jimmy, but he is a little to content with listening to "La palabra de dios" without doing anything... Elder Castillo accidentally called Jesus a prophet and Jimmy lost it, luckily we cleared it up and he composed himself 😂

Saturday we tracted, and studied, and tracted some more, then ate, then tracted some more... Didn't find anyone super awesome either. We did find a less active member but he was pretty comfortable being less active. We scheduled to come back and we'll probably be pretty bold since he's been through the temple. We also decided to go to Clarksburg to find some people and we went through basically the middle of nowhere to get there and there would be a massive house about every 500 yards, I wouldn't mind living there at all.

Sunday was good, Melvin and Katterin brought the couple that lives with them so that was awesome. Katterin set another date for her wedding, April 28th see ya there. Hopefully her family will have calmed themselves by then so it can happen. Other than that we just tracted the rest of the night after dinner. Its a shame people love the Bible so much. If they understood what the Bible actually was I think they'd be more open to the Book of Mormon, but "A Bible! A Bible!" So yeah, good times.

Today we went to Walmart then had District activity, then washed the car for zone conference on Thursday. District Activity was just pizza and games in the chapel. I was lacking on pictures again this week. Sorry bout it.

Elder Beck

We will have our work cut out for us based off of this investigators bathroom hehe
