Celebrating One of My Ladies & Losing Her First Tooth
It was back to business as usual after we got home from our trip last week.
Friday after school was the STEAM activity for the little girls.
I think that stands for Science, Technology, E..., Art, Math maybe?
Anyway, the girls were so excited to go and loved it.
After STEAMing I dropped off Lilly and Janie and picked up Gracie for part 1 of our ladies day celebrations. (I'm blogging about this with her permission, we are pretty open with talking about the ladies day stuff around these parts).
Gracie got lucky. Her mom and older sisters were early bloomers but she made it all the way to 13 1/2 woo hoo!! On the other hand, Gracie was not lucky because ladies day came while her mother was in Cancun. Thankfully, Kloe was here for support. Kloe produced big bowls of ice cream and Emmy face-timed in, Rachel stayed with the girls while we were gone so she was there too. They all gave Gracie pep talks and swapped ladies day stories.
Part 1 of our celebrations consisted of a movie and dinner.
We saw I Can Only Imagine and loved it. So good, and a true faith promoting story--love those.
Then we went to Zupas. We had the best time together. She told me all about her face timing with Emmy and the girls and brought me up to speed on her school life and we talked about the braces that she's so excited for. She's not 13 and boy crazy like her mother was (thank heavens) so there was no talk of boys.
Part 2 will be pedicures but we decided to wait another month or so when it's warm enough to wear sandals.
The weekend was a little traumatic for Miss Lilly.
She had her first really loose tooth (she has a few others that have been barely loose for like a year). It's to the point where it hurts to eat. I kept hoping biting down on food would knock it out but it never did and she would cry every time she bit down on her tooth.
She wiggled and wiggled with no luck and she didn't want any of us pulling it out for her.
Saturday night she passed out exhausted from trying to lose her tooth. Love the toothpaste on her face.
Finally Sunday night Kloe offered her 3 bucks and Gracie offered her 4 if she'd let someone pull it out. They also pointed out the extra money she'd make from the tooth fairy and that put her over. I was at a meeting so I missed all the excitement but I'm told Dad tried pulling it, but his fingers were too big so Janie offered and pulled the thing right out.
The tooth fairy remembered to come and Lilly spent the morning going over all the possible ways of spending all that tooth money.
I'm still working on the Cancun posts but here's Kevin's Sluffin'
It Outdoors part 1 video of the trip.
