Cancun #3

We spent one entire day exploring the Mayan ruins in Tulum and Chichen Itza.

So much to see and we loved learning about the Mayan people and their culture.

A little disturbed about the sacrificing of babies and virgins.

This area of Mexico was extra hot.

We were melting.

Maybe you've heard, Chichen Itza is one of the New7Wonders of the world.

Here's Johnny, our tour guide with Alma LDS tours.

He was fantastic!  He even did my bartering for me with the vendors.  Did you know that tour guides in Mexico have to have a college degree?

This is Jennifer and Chad.  They were with us on the tour and turns out they are from Herriman.  They were so nice.  Kevin thanked them for not being weird.  You never know who you'll end up with on these kinds of things.

We ended the day with a swim in this Cenote.  Back in the day they used these for a water supply and burying dead people.  Isn't that nice.
