Mega Extra Credit

Gracie told us last week that one of her teachers was offering mega extra credit to any student who went to the annual Fort Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous over Labor Day weekend.  We didn't have any plans Monday so we thought, What the heck, lets do it.

While we miss Estabon terribly, the girls are REALLY happy about the new space they have for road trips.

We made sure to get plenty of proof she actually went.
And if you're wondering what happened at Fort Bridger, the sign will tell you.

None of us had heard of this Bridger Rendezvous before.
Gracie actually did a 4th grade report on Jim Bridger, but didn't remember much about him.

The people who go are dedicated to the cause and apparently if you dress up as a mountain man or in the style of that day, admission is free.

Pets are also welcome.
The girls saw a pet pig and were fascinated by the 150 pound "dog horse".

This little Indian baby was our favorite.
He beat the drums and knew all the right moves.

We tried real hard to capture a nice family photo to commemorate our adventure but with so many sensitive eyes it wasn't happening...

We wrapped it up with some cotton candy and a foot long corn dog for the little girls.
Kev turned on Anne Murray and took the scenic route home through the Uintas. It was a little slice of heaven until we hit horrible traffic near Park City.

Guess who else was in Wyoming over the weekend?
Em told me she was going to Wyoming.  I assumed Jackson Hole, but never asked.  She ended up at the Meeteetse Parade and ran into my Uncle Alex and his sister Ramona (they are from there, born and raised).  So funny.
