The Marked Up Map
We don't really have a holiday tradition for the 24th of July.
Every year is different and this year we didn't have anything planned.
Dakota left that morning on a back packing trip with his friends so it was just the parents and the 5 ladies.
Kev and I started the day at the gym while our beauties slept, and then we came home and made a big breakfast.
We watched a couple of pioneer movies, Legacy and Ephraim's Rescue--which we'd never seen before and really liked! Kev read us some stories about his pioneer ancestors and then Kev and I broke away to go out to our old house to take care of the yard. We got an offer last night so let's all cross our fingers we can get this thing sold!
Kev grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner and then we all watched The Great British Baking Show while waiting for the fireworks.
We watched the fireworks from our drive-way and Gracie donated some sparklers, poppers and snakes her Sunday School teacher gave her at church yesterday. It was the first time the kids had seen the snakes. We used to do those all the time when I was a kid.
I almost forgot the most exciting part of the day was when the mail came!
Kev found a flaming gorge guide who will mark all the good fishing spots if you send him a map and a buck for postage. He got the marked up map in the mail and he couldn't have been more excited!
We'll be fishing for trout and kokanee next month at the Gorge and maybe we'll catch another one of those grody burbot's.
