A Birthday and A Baptism

Saturday was Kevin's birthday and it started out with Aubrey and Jax taking us to Kneaders for a birthday breakfast.
Having grown up kids is the best.

And then we went to my nephew Tirk's baptism.
He's pretty cute.

Today was also supposed to be Janie's baptism day but we found out last week our stake changed the date.  Janie was pretty sad about it.
She was so excited to be baptized on her Dad's birthday.
To soften the blow Dad took her on a daddy daughter date, just the two of them.  She picked Pizza Pie for lunch and then a Slurpee afterward.

They talked about all kinds of things.
Dad taught her a little about how the game of football works.
He also told her about the time he almost died jumping off the roof of the garage at our old house.

The oreo and cookie dough dessert pizza's are her favorite.
Later that night Janie got to go with mom and the girls to her first General Woman's Conference.
Another perk of turning 8.

I finished painting the entry way.
Or maybe I should say I survived painting the entry way.

Of all the walls, this one was the hardest.

Yesterday Johanna joined us for dinner and family night.
Kloe taught us about Integrity and we talked about how Joseph in Egypt lived a life of integrity and also how Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego showed integrity.  Kloe did an awesome job of teaching this lesson.  I am so grateful every time I get a glimpse of the gospel of Jesus Christ entering my children's hearts.

And then we had homemade strawberry-rhubarb birthday pie for dessert.
The End.
