We'll Gather
Tomorrow and Sunday our family will gather together to watch the LDS General Conference.
Even the big kids are coming home for the gathering.
We all love General Conference. Years ago we didn't make the Saturday conferences a priority. We let sports and other activities get in the way, but it isn't like that anymore.
Eight hours of church in two days is a lot (10 hours for the boys who attend the Priesthood Session) so Kev and I have figured out ways to make it fun and relaxing. PJ's, pillows and blankets are always allowed. We don't get upset when a nap happens now and again. Note taking is optional. The little ones can bring quiet toys to play with. And there is always plenty of good food.
A few of the spoils for the weekend.
We always follow up Sunday night and talk about our favorite talks and what we learned.
What I hope the kids learn is that listening to the prophet and our church leaders is important and that it's a huge blessing to have living prophets to teach and guide us. I hope they learn that our questions and concerns can be answered as we listen to the words of the prophets. And that General Conference is a time for our family to connect with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Uncle Dale and my niece Haylee flew in from Texas last week to do a college tour. Megan accompanied them and Dale gathered my big kids together so they could fill Haylee in on all things Utah State. They did a pretty good job since it looks like Haylee's top two choices are Westminster and USU!
Today is a big day for the parent's kitchen remodel!
The cabinets get installed!
Jax got to get in on some of the action.
And so did Kevin
By tonight this entire wall will be covered in beautiful white cabinets!
