A Pretty Great Weekend

Jax and Aubrey were in town and Saturday Jackson's friend Marc Young from Michigan stopped by for brunch and a visit.  Jax met so many great people on his mission and we loved getting to meet Marc.

Bella's mom helped the girls get their lemonade stand up and running Saturday afternoon.  When business was slow they went door to door selling their delicious flavored sugar water.

They tell me next week they are selling cupcakes.

While the girls were selling punch the boys were making socks.  They enlisted the help of their Dad to help them with orders for a High School fundraiser.

While the girls were selling punch and the boys were making socks the other girls ate junk food and watched movies.  Aubrey had never seen The Other Sister (me and my sisters love that show) so we watched that and While You Were Sleeping (I'm a big Sandra Bullock fan).  I love Saturdays where I have no where to go and nothing to do (except feed the children--I never get a break from that).

Today while I was getting Sunday dinner on the table the little girls were making home movies.  Janie was headgear girl in one of them.

One of our Sunday traditions is at dinner we each talk about what we learned in church.  I like to hope it helps the kids pay closer attention in their classes since they know they'll have to talk about it during dinner.  It's also a great time to talk with them about why they are learning these things and why we believe what we do.  Today Lilly learned about eating healthy food and growing gardens (and she told the class about her Dad's garden and how he's growing green tomatoes :).  Janie learned about how Jesus Christ is her friend and is always there for her.  Gracie learned about the crucifixion of our Savior.  Kloe and Dakota learned about the blessings of keeping the Sabbath day holy.
