Missionary Monday on Tuesday - Week 13 in BNH

The World Cup is exciting and all, but I still can't get into the game of soccer itself. We can't watch the games, but from what I've seen here and there, there is just too much dramatic falling every five seconds.

This week was super good.

We crushed our old record for investigators in sacrament meeting. I have gained a testimony of teaching families. The problem is that a complete family is really hard to find here.

We have one family that is pretty sweet. In only two weeks they have changed a lot and have pretty strong testimonies. We went with them to the cartório to mark a wedding day this week. They will be married (and baptized)on July 19th and they choose Elder Oliveira and I to be the Padrinhos (Best Men) of the marriage. The purpose of the marriage is so that they will be living the Law of Chastity, but Alexandre (the dad) commited himself to live it until July 19th anyway. Ha. Plus we scored a giant can of coffee from them so that they can live the Word of Wisdom. One of the first signs for Alexandre that we were sent from God was that for years he couldn't sleep past 3 a.m., but as soon as we started coming by he has been sleeping like a baby. His 19 year old son Igor and 8 year old daughter Maria Eduarda will be baptized this Saturday.

Fun fact: In Portuguese Beck is a nick name for marijuana and Shaw (Chá) is tea and that makes for plenty of jokes for Brazilians when Elder Shaw and I go on divisions.

New President this week.

I had something else to say, but I forgot.

Élder Beck

1 - Legalize me.

2 - Last pic with President and Sister Pinho.

3 - We have a pday tradition of chocolate cookies. We have to make them ourselves because they don't exist here. They are a pretty good bargaining item with members too.
