Bonding with Kevin James

I got a text message from my niece Mickayla yesterday afternoon asking if she could surprise Emmy and come stay with us for the weekend.

So at 9pm last night I took Emmy with me to Lowes to buy some nails so the husband and I could finish that project I posted about the other day.  Emmy was in a pretty good mood so I didn't have to beg her to come with me.  We met Mickayla in the Lowes parking lot and Emmy was SO SO SURPRISED!!!

(And btw I didn't really need any nails)

They spent all of Saturday bonding!

They bonded at Zupas over grilled cheese, nuts about berries salad and mushroom soup.

They bonded over a Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcake with dark chocolate frosting and some rockstar (as they described it) filling.

They bonded at the movies with Kevin James.  We just love Kevin James.

They bonded with Grandma Jan over hotdogs with her special sauce.

And then they bonded with Aunt Kimmy over board games and Mickayla and Aunt Kimmy bonded over Saturday's Warrior (Emmy wasn't into it).

Today was supposed to be the Sweethearts Dance so Mickayla's timing was perfect!  I'd take bonding with my cousin over dancing with a boy any day :)

Okay, well, I actually wouldn't since it was Kevin I was dancing with at that age and we couldn't get enough of each other, but Emmy totally would!

I walked in to see these two looking at one of the kids scrapbooks.  Are they cute or what?!
