Family Field Trip

We were able to go to the Brigham City Temple open house this afternoon--all of us minus Lilly.  She's still a car hater.

This was the first time I'd seen Jax in 3 weeks.  He definitely seemed more grown up.  I think college life is agreeing with him.

The temple was beautiful.  The exterior reminded me of the Salt Lake Temple, where the husband and I were married.  We told the kids how blessed they are to be able to go to so many temple dedications and open houses.  Jackson remembers going to the Nauvoo Temple dedication shortly after he turned 8.  It is great to be able to take the kids--especially the ones who aren't old enough to do Baptisms yet so they can see inside and experience the beautiful interior as well as the beautiful spirit of our Lord's House.  Within the next few years they have the Payson and Provo temples to look forward to as well!

The temple has taken on new meaning for our family with the death of Baby Kevin.  We don't take for granted the opportunity to be sealed together as a family not just for this life but forever.

After we finished at the temple we drove to the Malad Cemetery.  The sprinklers were on so we took some quick pictures.  We all loved Baby Kevin's headstone and I am glad to have it in place.

While we were at the cemetery Jackson read the following to the family...

We are very blessed!

The Dude Ranch was OPEN for this visit.  We wondered if the food only tasted so good on the day of the graveside because we were all sad and starving, but it all tasted great today too!  Everyone agreed we'll be making a stop here every time we visit Baby Kevin's grave.

Unfortunately we were all too stuffed to try the ho-made pie!

He made a valiant effort but couldn't finish it :)

Did you know?  Emmy likes lettuce.  Just lettuce and croutons.  No dressing.  Odd don't you think.

We finished the night with a visit to my Grandpa Moon and Aunt Jeri.  Grandpa kept us laughing the entire time.  It was so fun to watch my kids crack up at their Great Grandpa!  I'm so grateful they know him and will remember him.

So thankful for such a great day!
