Happy Birthday America!
A bunch of us Moon's waiting for the parade to begin...
It was a beautiful day in Malad, Idaho. Much better than the freezing cold 4th we celebrated in Malad
It's pretty much trick-or-treating in July but with much less effort!
After the parade we went to a nearby park.
The day of Baby Kevin's graveside service we went to a restaurant afterwards called The Dude Ranch. If Megan got pictures of that part of the day I'll blog about it sometime in more detail. We arrived at the restaurant emotionally exhausted and starving. They had lots of good comfort food and we decided we'd eat there every time we visited Baby Kevin's grave.
After a fun visit at the park we headed over to The Dude Ranch only to find a CLOSED sign in the window :( Malad doesn't have much to choose from in the way of eating establishments and some of them were closed for the holiday so we settled on this little BBQ place...
Rick and Mindy's family were also big fans of The Dude Ranch and were very disappointed we couldn't eat there but this little place ended up having really good food! We were pleasantly surprised.
The BBQ pork sandwiches were fantastic and the entertainment Rick and Haylee provided was fabulous! Miss Haylee is a girl of few words (Haylee is Tricia's daughter who's visiting from Texas). Rick had 150 questions for her so we could all get to know her better. A few of his questions were...
If you were a boat, what kind of boat would you be?
In a battle between Batman and Superman who would win?
How many of your facebook friends are your REAL friends? And how many would die for you?
If your house was on fire and you could only save one family member, which one would you save?
Who is your favorite Uncle?
After lunch we went to visit Baby Kevin's grave. It was so quiet and peaceful, we had the cemetery all to ourselves.
The cemetery dedicated this new Christmas Box Angel monument over Memorial weekend...
Our holiday ended with a couple of movies at the Drive Inn!
It has been over 10 years since we took the kids to a Drive Inn movie. We used to go quite a bit when it was just Jackson, Emmy and Dakota. We always had the best time and I have no idea why we stopped going. I realized I have failed my children miserably, but it's never too late to repent :) We'll go again soon but next time we'll take Cafe Rio and Pizza :)
Emmy gets to cross "Go to a Drive Inn movie" off her bucket list!
We saw Brave and The Avengers. I guess everyone was watching fireworks because it wasn't at all crowded. We still got a great firework show during the first movie. We could see them all around the valley. We didn't get home until after 2am. It was a busy fun day!
