Messages For Our Family
In the weeks leading up to General Conference our family prays that we might be prepared to receive the messages that are meant just for our family. Last Sunday we also fasted as a family for this purpose. From the very first speaker at yesterdays session to President's Monson's final remarks today, we knew our Heavenly Father was speaking to our family, through his prophet and church leaders. So many great messages and reminders of His love for me and my family and especially for this sweet baby I am carrying.
After the session my phone kept buzzing with text messages from family and friends telling me how much they loved his message and how it was just for me and my family.
I was also grateful the Tabernacle Choir sang "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". It's one of my favorite hymns and I've often wondered why it wasn't included in the last edition of the hymn book. It has such a great message.
We finished the day with Family Home Evening. It was Kevin's turn to give the lesson. We talked about some of the conference talks and the power of prayer and fasting. It's been a while since we talked as a family about baby Kevin and what we may be faced with after his birth. We had a lengthy discussion about the baby and Kevin answered lots of questions from the kids. I have often wondered over the last couple of months how we could even begin to handle this experience without our knowledge of the plan of salvation and especially the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. So grateful to know who we are, why we're here, and where we're going.
