"Flowers" and Birthday Cake

Kevin spent a lot of time working in the yard today. Janie was his little shadow, chatting away about all kinds of things. She really wanted to pick tulips for mom. We have so few that Dad told her they needed to stay in the ground but mom would see them every time she walked out the front door. She came upon these little dandy "flowers". "Dad can I please pick these for mom?" Dad told her she could pick as many of those as she wanted :)

Aubrey turned 18 today!
For those of you who don't know Aubrey, here's the story... We first met Aubrey about a year and a half ago when Jackson took her out on a few dates during their Junior year. Last Summer she and Emmy became BFF's through some connections they had with High School activities. Then last Fall Aubrey and Jackson started dating again so we get to see a lot of Aubrey! She's a great friend to my "big ones" and my little ones adore her.

Aubrey mentioned she hadn't blown out birthday candles since she was 7 so we made it happen!
