Project Thanksgiving--Day 19

I am thankful...

(Jax's 1st year of tackle football--8 yrs old)
JACKSON'S RAM'S WON THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!
(Do you think it's any coincidence his favorite team when he was little was the St. Louis RAMS?!)

We started the day with candy french toast to celebrate the upcoming big game!

Kevin may or may not have asked in our family prayer that Alex Kuressa (the amazing Mt. Crest Quarterback) would disappear--unharmed, just until Saturday.

It was a long day for Kevin.
He was excited, nervous and anxious, all at once.
He tried to keep busy to make the day go by faster...he even went grocery shopping with me to help pass the time. We picked up some of this for Jackson...

Figuring it would either be a nice way to celebrate the win, or a fun treat to help soften the blow.

3 pm: Another attempt to help pass the time...

FINALLY, at around 5:30 we head to Rice Stadium...making a stop for the most amazing cheesy bread from here...

6:30 Kick off!

Aunt Mindy, Uncle Rick, Emmy, Papa Tom, Dakota, Nick and the proud parents were all there to cheer for #28! Aunt Trish and Uncle Bobby were cheering from Texas and Arizona as I kept them updated via text messages :)

Jackson's Taylorsville buddies were so great to come and support him!

Jax had a great game!
He played most of the game on offense as running back and also on special teams.
A couple of the highlights were when he blocked a punt and had an 18 yard run!

The entire game was close and ended in a tie--sending the game into double overtime!

In the end, the Rams won by 1 point!
Highland 37 - Mountain Crest 36
My camera battery died right before overtime...sadly I missed all the celebrating.

It was a night Jackson will never forget and neither will his family--Kev and I are so excited Jax could have this experience with this game he's loved so much, ever since he was 3!
