Busy, But Good
Life is busy, but good!
Kevin's repo job at night has taken him all over the state.
One night he went to St George and Mesquite for cars.
Having to travel that far, it's always a relief when he doesn't come empty handed.
I was given a new calling in church.
Second Counselor in the Young Women's Presidency
I was excited and disappointed all at once.
I have loved teaching Relief Society and I'll miss it.
I saw a second jaw specialist for my headaches, face and jaw pain, and lately my face has been going numb as well. The first specialist told me I needed to go back into braces. Dr Guinn (supposed to be the best in Utah) said my jaw is fine but I clench and grind my teeth at night, so he gave me a mouth piece to wear and referred me to a Physical Therapist who specializes in facial pain. We'll see how that goes.
I know we are promised we'll never be given a trial we can't handle, but I feel I'm close to a breakdown with this one.
On the bright side, the kids are doing amazing.
Lilly Emmy gets more beautiful every day. She loves to be with me. She asks me every day if she can do my hair and she loves to go shopping with her mama. "Bless that mom's headaches will go away", is included every time she prays. Emmy is very sweet, except she gets really annoyed with Dakota sometimes and can be a little mean. She went too far the other day when she poked him in the eye. It really upset me, so I prayed for help to know how to handle the situation. The next morning I was reading in my scriptures and came across some verses about how Heavenly Father wants us to treat each other and how parents are responsible for teaching their children right from wrong.
I later talked to Emmy about how Heavenly Father wants her to treat her little brother, and we talked about repentance. I think she understood on some level. It definitely went over better than just telling her to "stop it". Which clearly wasn't working.
I also told her for the next two days she'd have to sit on a chair while her brothers played outside.
Consequences are a bummer.
Jackson is getting so grown up. I couldn't ask for a more perfect oldest child. He is so good to help me and he has such a funny sense of humor. He's also a sensitive little guy. We took him to the movie My Dog Skip and he told me he cried a little when the dog almost died.
Dakota is still a Mama's boy. He's a man of few words, just like his daddy :). Whenever I'm around he's very clingy, but when I'm gone he's mister happy, independent boy! Now that the weather is warming up he loves to play outside with Emmy and Jackson. We got them a swing set for Easter and they love it!
I'm feeling pretty content with our family of five.
With my health, and Dakota still so small, It's not the best time to evaluate the size of our family, but right now, I'm feeling as if we could be done.
Kevin is a wonderful dad and husband.
I've never seen him work this hard, and also be so happy.
He loves his repo work and is especially excited that he just picked up Georgia as one of his accounts. He's been working to get that one for a year.
Easter Sunday 2000
This was taken at the Beck's annual Easter egg hunt.
The kids love it!

Don't let this kid fool ya.
He was NOT happy about getting his picture taken.
It took us three hours and lots of walks through the mall to make it happen.
