All Moved In

Kevin surprised me with a trip to San Francisco.
He found $50 round trip flights and couldn't pass them up.
This little getaway couldn't have come at a better time.
We had been working day and night on the house and were so ready for a break.

We took Emmy with us and Jackson stayed with Kevin's family.

Emmy was the perfect little traveler.

It was a quick trip.
We flew in on Tuesday morning September 5th and and flew home on Thursday the 7th.
Neither of us had ever been there before.
We rented a little green Mercury Tracer.  The San Francisco drivers are wild.  They just do whatever they want on the road and most of the streets are one way, so driving wasn't our favorite part of the trip.
Our hotel was in a sketchy part of town (which we had no way of knowing, or we'd never have stayed there, it was that bad) so we were relieved to see our car in one piece each morning.

We packed in as much as we could each day.
Pier 39
Rode the elevator to the top of the Coit Tower
China Town
Pier 41
Alkatraz
Ghirardelli Square
Drove across the Bay Bridge
Drove down Lombard Street

I think our favorite part of the trip was the tour at Alkatraz.

We returned home to more painting.
The carpet went in about a week later and we were able to move in just in time for Kevin's 25th Birthday!
We feel so at home here, and I hope we can stay for a long time.
We both love that Grandma and Grandpa Beck raised their boys in this house.
We love our new ward.  The older members remember Grandpa Beck as their Bishop!  He served as Bishop of the Kimball ward for 13 years.

The babies loved staying at Mama Jan's and Papa Tom's.
They were completely spoiled!
I think my parents were probably ready to have some of their space back, with five kids still living at home.

Me and Kevin made a diaper deal with the babies.
When we are both around, he changes the big bum and I change the little bum.
Jackson has zero interest in potty training, and I have zero interest in pushing him to do it.

Kevin and his Dad before a Jazz game.
Kevin's Dad and his Uncle Ron have been doing stats for the Jazz for a lot of years.
Kevin loves spending time with his dad and uncle; the Jazz games and paychecks are a bonus.

This boy is such a good big brother.  He loves Emmy!
He loves to learn, I'm constantly amazed at how smart he is.
He's also becoming quite the tease.  He can also be a little stinker!  Last week he was playing in the balls at McDonald's.  He was loving it and when it was time to go, he didn't want to leave.  I finally had to climb into the balls and get him.  There was a bigger kid playing with Jackson and he kept saying to me, "He hates you! He hates you!".  Awesome.  Once I got Jackson out, he would not let me put his shoes on him.  Don't worry, mom won the battle.
Jackson also picked up a new word recently.
It starts with an s and ends with a t.
Needless to say, we won't be letting him watch The Sandlot anymore.

Kevin and Rhett were SO excited for the deer hunt!
As you can see, their hunt was a success and we'll be eating deer jerky for the next couple of years.

This baby girl is a sweetheart.
She coos, and aaaahs and ooohs at us.
She likes her brother and prefers mom to dad, but that will probably change once I'm no longer her primary source of food.
We are so grateful to live just minutes from the grandparents.
Our babies are lucky!

I've been busy with my flower business and building a customer base with my Mary Kay business.  I'm up at 5am each day to try and keep on top of things.  Kevin takes care of the kids when I work nights and we are just doing our best to cover all the basis.

Daddy doing two of his favorite things :)
