Christian Healthcare Ministries

I was so grateful to find this company back in 2014.  I'd been praying for direction about what to do about Health Insurance for our family and then one day I heard Dave Ramsey talking about Christian Healthcare Ministries on the radio.  I'd never heard of them but they are an eligible option under the national healthcare law.

If you are self-employed or your insurance premiums are really high you may want to look into Christian Healthcare Ministries.  They have three options for coverage.  We have the most coverage they offer and we pay $450 a month for Kev and I and the kids.  We pay a quarterly amount of about $75. (called Brother's Keeper) which gives us unlimited cost support per illness.  Without Brother's Keeper there's a $125,000 maximum limit per illness.
It takes the insurance company out of it so it requires us to manage our healthcare but it's worked out really well.  If your family has a lot of Dr's office visits it may not be a good fit because it doesn't cover an "incident" that is under $500 but we've found a great clinic with $60 office visits and all of their blood work and other tests are deeply discounted.  Our ER visit when Dakota injured his eye a few years ago cost us nothing, CHM covered all of it.  My brother's family is on this plan and when my niece needed knee surgery, CHM covered all of it.  We're also looking forward to CHM paying for our colonoscopy's :) --REALLY looking forward to that.

We've also found a great dental plan with Metlife

We only pay about $105. a month for all of us and the coverage is great and also includes orthodontic treatment.

You're welcome to email me and I'd be happy to tell you more about our family's experience with both companies...
