We Played Hard and Slept Hard - Day 5 & 6

Day 5 was extra special for Lilly.
She was able to do baptisms for the dead for the first time in the Laie Temple.

She loved it and said it was amazing.

Kevin baptized all the girls and mom was a witness.

Janie wanted to know more about BYU Hawaii, so next up was a campus tour.

Eddie told us all the unique and great things about BYU Hawaii and then we toured the campus.

Still my favorite part of the campus...

Janie was impressed.
Bought herself a sweatshirt.
Lilly was impressed with the little makeshift thrift store on campus and bought herself that cool camo Hawaii t-shirt for 5 bucks.
Before the trip we gave each of the girls a budget to cover food and souvenirs and boy did Lilly make hers stretch. She came home with four shirts, a hoodie and several treasures.

The rest of the day was spent at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Shannon from New Zealand was our guide and we loved her!
And of course we loved her accent.

The luau was fun but I think we all preferred the spread at the buffet last year.
FYI, those straws are not cardboard, they're bamboo.
We may or may not have thrown a few away.

The night show finished at around 9:30 and we crashed.
We played hard and slept hard this trip.

Day six the three of us went back to the temple for an endowment session while the others slept in.
The rest of the day was spent doing some of our favorite things and a few new things too.

I believe it was time for more shave ice.
You can never have too much.
And one more stop for Dole whips.

We happened upon this beach not far from our condo and it was a gem.
Kevin hadn't planned to get wet but he was committed to getting "the shot" for his Sluffin' It video.
Thankfully he remembered the van key fob in his pocket before it floated away.
